Prepare

Clean hands are healthier hands. To maintain a sanitary and healthy environment, have plenty of antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, and tissues available for your staff, guests, and residents.

  • Encourage hand washing and good hygiene
  • Allow sick employees to stay home to avoid spreading illness
  • Stay up on news related to viruses and health

Respond

It is important to keep high-traffic areas clean. That means routinely sanitizing frequently touched objects and surfaces, including door knobs, keyboards, and phones.

  • Wash hands frequently
  • Use hand sanitizers if hand soap and water are not available
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth

Recover

Restock your supply of antibacterial hand soaps and hand sanitizers. Take time to disinfect commonly touched areas like door knobs, handrails, telephones, and countertops. Remember to use disposable gloves and disinfectants.
