Hearing Impaired Accessibility: ADA Legislation
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has updated the requirements for hearing impaired accessibility, affecting hotels, motels, inns, and places of public accommodation.
Effective March 15, 2012 the number of rooms equipped for hearing impaired guests increased.
The hearing impaired accessible rooms must be dispersed among the different types of rooms offered. For more detailed information consult the U.S. Department of Justice, ADA website.
ADA compliance kits include telephone amplifiers and alerting devices for alarm clocks, door knock, and telephone. Compliance products are in high demand because of this legislation, and may be backordered.
