HVAC Warranty Information

Condensing Equipment

If your HVAC condensing equipment fails while under warranty, the manufacturer will replace only the defective part that caused the unit to fail. The manufacturers rarely, if ever, replace the entire unit, even if it fails upon start-up. Labor is not covered for repairing equipment that fails during the warranty period. It is the installer's responsibility to identify the defective part, remove it, and replace it with a new part.

HD Supply helps get the replacement part(s) from Goodman, GMC, DuroGuard, York, Payne, LG, and Trane to you.

Follow these steps if you experience equipment failure within the warranty period for the condenser, air handler, furnace, and coil:

  1. Validate purchase date. Most manufacturers warrant the sealed system between 2-1/2 and 10 years.
  2. Identify defective part and order the correct replacement part.
  3. Download and complete the warranty tag form. Please note specific return instructions vary by manufacturer.
